How We Bill: Time & Materials
No Winner. No Loser. Just Fair.
In our experience, most billing models in the consulting industry are fundamentally flawed. They create an adversarial dynamic — a winner and a loser. We think that’s a terrible foundation for a working relationship. So we operate differently.
Fixed Fee
The Problem
One side always loses — you either overpaid or we undercharged
Contractors pad estimates to protect their margins
Scope creep disputes and change order battles
You pay for estimated time, not actual time
Incentivizes speed over quality
Managed Services / Retainer
The Problem
Billed monthly regardless of whether you needed support
Unused hours vanish — no rollover, no refund
Creates dependency to justify ongoing billing
Overinclusive contracts full of services you’ll never use
You’re subsidizing other clients’ slow months
The Cloud Nexus Way: Time & Materials
Transparent by Design
You pay for the actual hours worked and the actual resources used. Nothing more. No padding. No inflated estimates.
We Don’t Bill for Quick Fixes
If it takes us less than 15 minutes to resolve, it’s on us. No nickel-and-diming for a configuration tweak or quick fix.
Every Hour is Documented
Detailed time logs with every invoice. You’ll know exactly what we worked on, when, and for how long.
Bottom line: With T&M billing, there’s no winner and no loser. There’s just work done well and work billed fairly. That’s the only kind of relationship we’re interested in building.
No Budget Lock-In
Need to pause a project? Done. No cancellation fees, no minimum commitments, no penalty clauses. Your budget stays in your control at all times.
Incentivized to Work Efficiently
Unlike fixed-fee models that reward slow work, T&M incentivizes us to be fast and precise. Our reputation depends on delivering results efficiently.

The Cloud Nexus Difference
One Vendor. The Entire Revenue Journey.
Most companies hire an SEO agency, a web design firm, and a Salesforce consultant — three vendors, three invoices, three teams that never talk to each other. We own the entire RevOps lifecycle so every layer compounds the one before it.
Why One Vendor Changes Everything
No Handoff Friction
Your SEO strategy informs your web copy, which maps to your Salesforce fields. One team owns the whole chain — nothing gets lost in translation.
Closed-Loop Attribution
Know which keyword, page, and CTA generated each closed deal — not just traffic. Full revenue attribution, start to finish.
Unified Data Model
Website visitor behavior, CRM engagement, and ERP revenue sit in the same data model. No duct-taped integrations between three vendors.

Merge Two Complete Salesforce Orgs
Without Losing a Single Record
We’ve successfully consolidated two entirely disparate Salesforce organizations—different metadata, custom objects, field structures, and all—executing a flawless zero-downtime merger over a single weekend. Here’s why this is exponentially harder than a typical migration.

Phase 10

Phase 11

Why It’s Exponentially Hard
Two completely different metadata structures
Custom objects that don’t match across orgs
Fields on wrong objects requiring remapping
Deduplicating accounts, contacts, leads, and dependents
Preserving record ownership and creator history
Maintaining created_date & created_by metadata
Re-linking Activities, Tasks, Events, and Files
Handling Salesforce-specific history objects
Managing integrations and external IDs
Ensuring zero data loss over a weekend cutover
The Real Gotchas
History Gaps
Tasks, Events, Notes, Files—each have unique Salesforce-specific schemas. Miss one linking object and history disappears.
Metadata Mismatches
Different picklist values, record types, and custom fields require transformation logic. Dedupe before normalizing = merged wrong records.
Identity Collapse
Users, sharing rules, queues, and role hierarchies differ. Users may not see merged records without permission re-setup.
Relationship Fragility
One wrong external ID mapping = Activities attach to wrong accounts, emails land nowhere, Files become orphaned.
Integration Chaos
APIs, webhooks, and systems still writing to the old org. Cutover without redirect strategy = duplicate/lost data.
The Weekend Crunch
Minimal downtime + multiple parallel workstreams = zero room for “let’s fix it in production.”
This level of precision requires deep Salesforce architecture expertise, meticulous planning, and battle-tested execution.
✓ Let’s Talk About Your Merger →Nonprofit Modernization
Modernize a Weekend Backpack Program
Legacy Access → Salesforce (Privacy-First)
We replaced a 10+ year offsite Microsoft Access database with a custom Salesforce application that runs a weekend backpack food program without tracking child identities. Forecasting, menus, allergen safety, donation coordination, and warehouse pick tickets—all modernized while preserving the familiar frontline workflow.
Before
Offsite Access Database (10+ Years)
Offsite + aging system → operational risk
Manual workarounds + institutional knowledge
Hard to scale across changing schedules

♥ Modernize Your Nonprofit Program →Data Model Expertise
Fix a Broken Data Model
Restore Trust & Drive Adoption at Scale
A large manufacturer and Salesforce user suffered from incorrect standard object usage: Leads repurposed as Projects, duplicate Contacts cloned per engagement, fragmented history, and low adoption. We remediated the entire data model using correct Salesforce patterns, rebuilt reporting, and embedded automation so the org couldn’t regress—enabling scale from 10 to 125+ users.
Before: The Broken Model
Leads as Projects
Leads repurposed as operational "Projects" instead of prospects
Duplicate Contacts
Multiple clones of same person (one per "Project")
Low Adoption
Users avoided Salesforce or worked inconsistently
Broken Reporting
Leadership didn’t trust dashboards or KPIs
Fragmented History
Activities, emails, and files scattered across clones
Spreadsheet Escape
Real system of record moved to shared drives and email
After: Restored Trust
10 → 125+ users over 5 years
Identity integrity restored
Opportunity hierarchy clarifies execution
Historical timelines coherent again
Executive KPIs now defensible
Platform ready for Account Engagement
The Six-Pillar Solution
Not just cleanup—a complete operating model redesign
Opportunity-as-Project
Parent/child hierarchy
One Person = One Contact
Identity integrity
OCR for Roles
Participation model
Deduplication
With prevention rules
History Re-linking
Activities, emails, files
Governance
Prevent regression
Gotchas We Managed Carefully
Re-linking history without crosswalks = stranded activities
Users revert to clones unless guided intake enforced
Reporting rejected unless KPI definitions reconciled
Emails/notes visible only with correct permissions
Integrations can reintroduce bad patterns post-go-live
User Growth Enabled
Phase Execution Plan
History Preserved & Re-linked
Automated Duplicate Prevention
Why This Worked
Fixed Operating Model
Used correct Salesforce patterns (Opportunity-as-Project) instead of custom objects.
Preserved Context
Re-linked every Activity, Email, Note, and File so users didn’t lose trust in the transition.
Embedded Prevention
Built duplicate rules and guided intake flows into dedupe so the org couldn’t snap back to the bad pattern.
Rebuilt Reporting
Reconciled KPI definitions and validated parity before cutover.
Reinforced Governance
Created stewardship cadence and guardrails so the good model stuck.
If your Salesforce org has inherited data model debt or low adoption, we know exactly how to fix it—and make sure it stays fixed.
✓ Discuss Your Data Model Remediation →Common Questions
Stuff people actually ask us.
How do you know if a Salesforce system is "broken"?
If your team uses Salesforce for reporting but doesn’t trust the data enough to make decisions from it, it’s broken. If people are keeping spreadsheets “just in case,” it’s broken. If your sales manager can’t answer “How much pipeline do we have?” without manually consolidating multiple reports, it’s broken. Broken doesn’t mean crashed—it means configured in a way that makes people avoid using it.
Can you actually fix a broken Salesforce system, or do you rebuild from scratch?
We fix it. Rebuilding from scratch is expensive, time-consuming, and usually unnecessary. Most broken systems just have architectural problems: wrong field types, missing automation, poor data structure, etc. We audit, identify the core issues, and make surgical fixes that restore trust in the data. Sometimes that means refactoring data, sometimes it means better configuration, sometimes it means training. But it’s rarely a full rebuild.
How long does an audit take?
Our free 90-minute audit is exactly that: 90 minutes. We dive into your org, run diagnostics, identify the main problems, and give you a clear breakdown of what’s broken and how we’d fix it. It’s enough to understand the scope, not enough to write War and Peace about it. After that, if you want a full remediation roadmap, we scope that separately.
Why does it matter that you work remotely?
Because your Salesforce problem isn’t solved by someone sitting in your office. It’s solved by someone who understands systems architecture, data integrity, and your business. We do that work over Zoom, Slack, and screen sharing the same way anyone does it in person. What you get is access to Salesforce expertise without paying for plane tickets or fancy office locations. Plus, we’ve been remote for years—we’re actually good at it.
What does "Time & Materials" actually mean for my budget?
It means you pay for hours actually worked. Not estimated hours. Not a monthly retainer for services you might not need. You get a detailed timesheet with every invoice showing exactly what we did, when, and for how long. You can pause projects without penalty. You only pay for what you use. No surprises, no black-box billing.
Do you do implementation work or just audits and optimization?
Both. We audit broken systems and fix them. We also do implementation for companies starting fresh or migrating from other platforms. We do integrations, custom development, automation workflows, data migration, reporting architecture—anything that requires someone who actually understands Salesforce data structure. Basically, we do the work that makes Salesforce actually function as a system instead of a glorified contact database.
How do you handle companies that are completely new to Salesforce?
We treat new implementations with the same rigor as fixing broken ones. We don’t just set it up—we architect it properly from the start so you don’t end up with a broken system three years in. That means thinking about data structure, automation, reporting, and integration from day one. It’s actually easier than fixing a broken org.
What if we're mid-project with another consultant and their work is... not good?
We can audit what they built, tell you what’s wrong with it, and either fix it or recommend you pause and restart with better architecture. We won’t bash other consultants, but we will be honest about whether their work is solid. If it’s bad, you should know.
Can you handle big Salesforce orgs with complex requirements?
Yes. Size and complexity are just factors in scoping. We’ve worked on enterprise orgs with thousands of users, multiple clouds (Sales, Service, Commerce), deep integrations, and custom development. The principles are the same: clean data architecture, trustworthy automation, transparent billing. The scope is bigger, but the approach is the same.
What happens after you fix the system?
Your team should actually use it, because the data is trustworthy and the workflows make sense. We’ll usually recommend training so people understand the changes we made. We can also set up ongoing support if you want—not a retainer, just hourly support for questions and minor tweaks. But the goal is you’re self-sufficient and your system actually works.
Do you have experience with CPQ, Field Service, or Marketing Cloud?
Yes. We’ve led full CPQ implementations from sandbox to production—products, bundles, pricing rules, advanced approvals, the works. We support field service operations at scale (750+ mobile technicians) and specialize in Marketing Cloud Account Engagement (Pardot) for lead nurturing and marketing automation. If your requirements are beyond Sales Cloud, we know those clouds too.
Our data is a mess. Can you actually clean it up without breaking everything?
Yes, but it takes planning. Bad data usually comes from bad structure—wrong field types, missing validation rules, poor automation logic. We use tools like Dataloader and DLRS (Declarative Lookup Rollup Summaries) to systematically clean and validate data while implementing rules to keep it clean going forward. We also build reports that let you audit the cleanup as it happens.
What about reporting and dashboards? Can you help us actually trust our numbers?
That’s core to what we do. We audit data quality first, then build reporting architecture that gives you trustworthy insights. We can work with Salesforce native reports, Tableau, Snowflake, or cloud analytics platforms like AWS and GCP. The goal is dashboards that stakeholders actually rely on for decisions, not vanity metrics.
We're thinking about migrating from Classic to Lightning. How bad will it be?
Not as bad as you think. Lightning migrations are mostly about testing—making sure your custom code, workflows, and page layouts render correctly. The data doesn’t move. We’ve done these for large organizations; the key is methodical testing and training. Most teams adapt quickly once they understand that Lightning is actually more stable and powerful.
Do you work with nonprofits or government? We have weird requirements.
Yes. We have deep experience with NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) and government sector implementations. Weird requirements are normal in those spaces—mission-driven organizations often need custom solutions that off-the-shelf platforms don’t support. We build those solutions right.
What about security and compliance? How do you handle sensitive data?
With seriousness. We design permission structures, row-level security rules, sharing settings, and data validation to protect sensitive information. We also help with HIPAA, SOC 2, and other compliance needs. Security isn’t an afterthought in our implementations—it’s baked in from the start.
Can you integrate Salesforce with our other systems (ERP, accounting software, etc.)?
Yes. We’ve integrated Salesforce with SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, ServiceNow, and many others. Integration is about clean data mapping, reliable sync logic, and monitoring. We design those connections so data flows reliably and breakage is rare.
How many people are on your team, and will the same person work on my project the whole time?
We’re a small, specialized team of certified Salesforce architects with deep expertise in different areas—admin, CPQ, marketing automation, data/BI, and field service. You’ll typically work with a core person, but you benefit from the entire team’s knowledge. Continuity matters to us; we don’t hand you off to junior staff.
