Why Cloud Nexus

The Cloud Nexus Difference

Cloud Nexus is not a traditional Salesforce consulting firm. We're a focused team of senior consultants who solve difficult problems without the bureaucracy, staffing pyramids, dependency models, and billing structures common in larger consulting organizations.

Core Positioning

Our objective isn't simply to implement Salesforce. It is to leave every client with a better-designed system, better business processes, more knowledgeable employees, and the ability to operate increasingly independently.

I

Our Business Model Is Different

1

We Bill on a True Time & Materials Basis

Clients pay for the actual work performed, rather than an inflated fixed-fee estimate or a monthly package of services they may or may not use.

  • Pay for actual hours worked.
  • Detailed time records accompany billing.
  • No artificial padding to protect a fixed-fee margin.
  • Projects can be paused when business priorities change.
  • No penalty for changing direction.
  • No need to purchase services simply because they were included in a package.
  • Budget remains under the client’s control.

Quick fixes requiring less than 15 minutes are generally not billed — an unusually tangible example of the philosophy.

We make money by doing valuable work — not by locking you into a contract.

2

We Don't Want Our Clients to Become Dependent on Us

Many consulting models become more profitable as the customer becomes more dependent upon the consultant. Cloud Nexus intentionally works in the opposite direction.

Our goal is to transfer knowledge, train internal employees, document what we build, and help clients understand how their Salesforce environment works. A self-sufficient internal team through training is an intended long-term outcome.

Success is that you need us less for routine work and call us when our expertise genuinely adds value.

3

No Artificial Budget Lock-In

A client may increase, decrease, pause, or redirect work as priorities change. There are no long-term commitments required simply to protect our revenue stream — no cancellation fees, minimum commitments, or penalty clauses within our T&M approach.

The client controls the engagement — not the contract.

II

How We Think Is Different

4

We Maintain a Hacker Mindset

By “Hacker Mindset,” we don't mean cybersecurity hacking. We mean curiosity, reverse engineering, experimentation, and looking underneath the visible symptom.

  • Asking “Why does it work this way?”
  • Challenging assumptions.
  • Finding unconventional solutions.
  • Understanding how systems really behave.
  • Testing edge cases.
  • Refusing to accept “Salesforce can’t do that” without investigating.
  • Looking for simpler ways to solve complicated problems.

A conventional consultant may ask: “How do we configure this requirement?” A Cloud Nexus consultant is more likely to ask: “Why do you have this requirement in the first place, and is there a better way to accomplish the business objective?”

We don't just configure Salesforce. We figure things out.

5

We Solve Business Problems First and Salesforce Problems Second

We don't begin with “Which Salesforce feature should we implement?” We begin with “What are you trying to accomplish?” Then we determine whether the answer involves configuration, process change, automation, integration, custom development — or sometimes doing nothing at all.

Business requirements drive technology decisions, not the other way around.

6

We Are Willing to Challenge the Requirement

Cloud Nexus is not an order-taker. Sometimes what a customer asks us to build isn't what they actually need. Our job is to understand:

  • What the customer says they want.
  • Why they want it.
  • What business outcome they expect.
  • Whether there is a simpler or better way to accomplish it.

That is consulting rather than configuration.

7

We Prefer Simple Solutions Over Impressive Solutions

A sophisticated solution is not necessarily a complicated solution. We favor:

  • Native Salesforce capabilities where appropriate.
  • Standard objects where appropriate.
  • Declarative automation where appropriate.
  • Clean data models and reusable architecture.
  • Minimal technical debt.
  • Custom code only when it provides genuine value.

The smartest solution is often the simplest solution that will still scale.

III

Our People Are Different

8

Senior People Actually Do the Work

Large consulting firms frequently sell an engagement using senior architects and executives and then deliver much of the work through less-experienced resources. Cloud Nexus is a focused team of senior consultants who do the work themselves — clients are not handed off to junior staff.

The people you meet are the people doing the work.

9

We Don't Use a Staffing Pyramid

Our structure is intentionally lean — no layers of junior resources underneath a senior architect. That means:

  • Fewer handoffs and less communication loss.
  • Less management overhead and faster decisions.
  • Direct access to expertise.
  • Less time explaining the problem repeatedly.
10

Clients Benefit From the Entire Team's Experience

Although a client may work primarily with one consultant, Cloud Nexus operates as a group of specialists — administration, architecture, CPQ, marketing automation, data/BI, integrations, and Field Service. The client therefore doesn't need to hire a separate administrator, developer, architect, integration specialist, CPQ specialist, reporting specialist, and marketing automation specialist. We bring the appropriate expertise in when needed.

You don't hire one Salesforce person. You gain access to a Salesforce team.

IV

The Breadth of Our Experience Is Unusual

11

Extremely Broad Salesforce Platform Experience

Cloud Nexus isn't limited to basic Sales Cloud implementation. Our experience encompasses:

  • Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Field Service.
  • CPQ / Revenue Cloud and Marketing Cloud Account Engagement.
  • Data 360, Agentforce, MuleSoft.
  • Reporting, dashboards, Tableau and analytics.
  • Integrations, data migration, and custom applications.
  • Automation and Flow, security and permissions, data architecture.
  • Salesforce optimization and remediation.

36+ Salesforce certifications across the team and 175+ years of combined experience.

There aren't many Salesforce problems we haven't seen some version of before.

12

Broad Business-Process Experience

Our expertise isn't confined to Salesforce products. We've worked across marketing, lead generation, sales, customer onboarding, operations, professional services, customer service, field operations, revenue operations, data management, analytics, financial processes, and integration architecture. This allows us to see relationships that a Salesforce-only specialist may miss.

13

Broad Industry Experience

Cloud Nexus has experience across life sciences, pharmaceutical, healthcare, manufacturing, professional services, nonprofits, government, technology, consumer businesses, financial services, enterprise organizations, mid-market, and smaller organizations.

A solution learned in manufacturing may solve a problem in life sciences. A nonprofit data-modeling problem may reveal a better solution for professional services.

Breadth creates creativity.

V

We Are Particularly Good at Difficult Salesforce Problems

14

We Fix Salesforce Orgs Other People Have Already Built

Many Salesforce partners would rather implement a clean new org. Cloud Nexus has deliberately developed expertise around messy, mature, complicated environments — “We Fix the Jet While It’s Flying.”

  • Broken Flows and poor data models.
  • Duplicates and incorrect field mappings.
  • Validation-rule problems and bad reporting.
  • Technical debt and CPQ problems.
  • Integration problems and adoption problems.
  • Years of accumulated configuration.

You don't need a perfect Salesforce org before you call us. Broken Salesforce is one of our specialties.

15

We Can Work on a Live System Without Bringing the Business to a Halt

We fix active Salesforce environments while users continue working — zero downtime, logged changes, reversible fixes, and careful cutovers. This demonstrates something more important than technical expertise: operational maturity.

16

Deep Data Expertise

A Salesforce implementation ultimately succeeds or fails based upon its data architecture. Our experience includes data modeling, cleansing, deduplication, migration, mapping, validation, historical preservation, governance, reporting architecture, identity resolution, and cross-system data — including repairing broken data models and preserving historical relationships rather than simply importing records.

We don't just move data. We understand what the data means.

17

Proven Ability to Handle Extremely Complex Migrations

A particularly powerful proof point: consolidating two disparate Salesforce organizations with different metadata, objects, and field structures while preserving the data and completing the cutover without downtime. This isn't ordinary Data Loader work — it demonstrates architecture, planning, crosswalk development, governance, testing, relationship preservation, cutover strategy, and risk management.

VI

We Think Beyond Salesforce

18

Salesforce Is Part of an Ecosystem

Salesforce rarely operates alone. Our integration experience includes SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, ServiceNow, data warehouses, legacy databases, custom applications, APIs, and MuleSoft.

We don't look at Salesforce in isolation. We look at your entire technology ecosystem.

19

We Understand Legacy Systems

We've replaced or integrated systems that weren't designed with Salesforce in mind — for example, replacing a 10+ year-old Microsoft Access application while intentionally preserving familiar frontline processes and redesigning the underlying operation.

Modernize the technology without unnecessarily disrupting the people using it.

VII

We Design for What Happens After Go-Live

20

Adoption Is Part of the Technical Solution

A technically perfect configuration that nobody uses is a failed implementation. We consider user experience, page layout, number of clicks, data entry burden, automation, training, reporting, existing workflows, and change management.

We don't measure success by whether Salesforce works. We measure it by whether your people use it.

21

We Design Systems That Don't Immediately Break Again

Fixing today's problem isn't enough. We emphasize governance, duplicate prevention, scalable architecture, reusable integration patterns, and automation designed to prevent regression.

We don't just clean up the mess. We try to remove the conditions that created the mess.

22

Architecture Comes Before Configuration

Foundational decisions — data architecture, object structure, integration strategy, automation architecture, reporting, security, sandboxes, and governance — compound over the life of an org. Getting them right early is what gives us credibility beyond a configuration shop.

VIII

Our Engagement Experience Is Different

23

We Start by Listening

We understand the customer's processes and requirements before designing the solution. That's explicit positioning, not an afterthought.

Listen → Understand → Challenge → Design → Build. Not: Sell → Configure → Invoice.

24

Clients See the Work as It Is Being Built

Our methodology uses iterative development and weekly demonstrations, allowing customers to see progress and provide feedback throughout an engagement rather than waiting until the end.

No black box. No big reveal at the end.

25

We Offer a Genuine 90-Minute Salesforce Review

Rather than forcing a prospect into a sales process, we offer a 90-minute review with a senior consultant that identifies problems, quick wins, risks, priorities, and potential next steps — and the prospect leaves with a prioritized action plan.

We demonstrate value before asking you to buy something.

IX

Our Size Is an Advantage

26

Boutique by Design

Cloud Nexus isn't trying to be Accenture, Deloitte, or a giant Salesforce implementation factory. We're candid: we are not a huge firm. That becomes a strength:

  • More accountability and greater continuity.
  • More flexibility and faster communication.
  • Less overhead and less bureaucracy.
  • Direct access to decision-makers and senior expertise.

Big enough to handle complex Salesforce. Small enough to care about yours.

27

Remote-First Means Expertise Without Geographic Overhead

We explicitly embrace our remote operating model rather than pretending to maintain offices everywhere. Salesforce problems are solved by people who understand architecture, data, and the client's business — not by paying consultants to travel.

Our clients pay for Salesforce expertise — not airplanes, hotels, and expensive consulting offices.

X

Experience and Credibility

28

Decades of Salesforce Experience

Our team's Salesforce experience traces back to 2004, near the beginning of Salesforce's history. That means we've experienced multiple generations of the platform — early Salesforce, Classic, Lightning, Workflow Rules, Process Builder, Flow, CPQ, Industry Clouds, MuleSoft, Tableau, Data 360, and Agentforce and AI. That historical context matters when diagnosing why mature environments look the way they do.

29

Demonstrable Credentials

These aren't the differentiator by themselves. They are the evidence supporting the differentiators:

175+yrs combined experience
36+Salesforce certifications
95%client retention
52+handpicked projects
XI

The Overarching Cloud Nexus Philosophy

All of these points can ultimately be distilled into five beliefs.

1

Be Fair

Charge clients for the work they actually receive.

2

Be Curious

Never stop asking why something behaves the way it does.

3

Be Experienced

Put senior people on the problem.

4

Be Practical

Solve the business problem with the simplest architecture that will work and scale.

5

Leave the Client Stronger

Transfer knowledge and build systems customers can ultimately manage themselves.

If You Remember Five Things

The Five Differentiators We Lead With

01

Senior People Do the Work

No bait-and-switch. No junior staffing pyramid. The people you meet are the people doing the work.

02

True Time & Materials

You pay for work performed — not padded estimates or services you don't use.

03

We Want You Self-Sufficient

Our objective is knowledge transfer, not dependency. Success is that you need us less for routine work.

04

A Hacker Mindset

We investigate, challenge assumptions, reverse-engineer problems and find creative solutions — not just configure requirements.

05

Exceptionally Broad Experience

Across Salesforce products, technologies, industries, integrations, business processes, remediation, migrations and architecture.

Everything else on this page supports these five.

In Summary

Cloud Nexus isn't built like a traditional Salesforce consulting partner.

We don't put senior architects in the sales meeting and junior resources on the project. We don't lock clients into fixed-fee projects or monthly contracts for services they may never use. And we don't measure success by how dependent a customer becomes on us.

We bill for the actual work we perform. Senior consultants do the work. We actively transfer knowledge so your team becomes increasingly self-sufficient.

Most importantly, we bring what we call a Hacker Mindset to Salesforce. We question assumptions, reverse-engineer problems, look beneath the symptoms, and search for the simplest, smartest solution to the actual business problem.

Combine that mindset with decades of experience spanning Salesforce architecture, administration, development, data, integrations, Revenue Cloud, Field Service, marketing automation, analytics, AI, and numerous industries, and you get something different from a conventional Salesforce implementation partner.

We're not here simply to implement Salesforce. We're here to figure out how to make Salesforce work for your business.
