Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about working with Cloud Nexus on Salesforce engagements — grouped by category.
Getting Started
What does a Salesforce consulting engagement look like?
Every engagement starts with a discovery call to understand your current Salesforce setup, pain points, and goals. From there, we scope a fixed-fee project or ongoing support retainer — no surprises. Most engagements include a kickoff, design phase, build/configure, UAT, and go-live with training.
How long does a Salesforce implementation take?
A standard Sales Cloud or Service Cloud implementation typically takes 6–12 weeks depending on complexity. A focused optimization or automation project can be completed in 2–4 weeks. We always provide a timeline estimate after initial discovery.
Do you work with companies that already have Salesforce?
Yes — the majority of our work is with organizations that already have Salesforce but aren’t getting value from it. We audit your org, identify technical debt, fix broken configurations, improve adoption, and make the system work the way your team actually works.
What is the free 30-minute Org Review?
It’s a no-cost, no-commitment call with a senior Salesforce consultant. We review your current org, surface quick wins, and give you a prioritized action plan. No pitch deck, no sales pressure — just honest advice.
Services & Pricing
How does your pricing work?
We offer both project-based fixed-fee engagements and hourly support retainers (our “Support as a Service” model). Fixed-fee projects are scoped upfront so you know exactly what you’re getting. Support retainers are prepaid hours you can use for questions, fixes, and smaller changes. See our full billing model on the How We Bill page.
What Salesforce products do you support?
We support Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Pardot/MCAE, Experience Cloud, NPSP, Nonprofit Cloud, Field Service, Revenue Cloud/CPQ, MuleSoft integrations, and Tableau/CRM Analytics. If it’s in the Salesforce ecosystem, we’ve likely worked with it.
Do you offer ongoing support after a project ends?
Yes. After a project, most clients move to our Support as a Service retainer — prepaid blocks of hours used for ongoing questions, small enhancements, report building, and admin support. It’s a cost-effective alternative to hiring a full-time Salesforce admin.
Can you work with our internal Salesforce admin?
Absolutely. We often augment internal teams — taking on project work, architectural decisions, or specialized tasks (like complex integrations or automation) that go beyond what an internal admin handles day-to-day.
Technical & Delivery
Will my Salesforce be disrupted during a project?
We design our delivery process to minimize disruption. All configuration is done in sandboxes and tested before production deployment. For complex changes, we schedule deployments during off-hours. Our “in-flight fix” approach means we can improve your org while your team keeps working.
What industries do you specialize in?
We have deep expertise in nonprofits (NPSP/Nonprofit Cloud), life sciences, professional services, and manufacturing. We also serve technology companies, healthcare organizations, and financial services firms. Our team has worked with 30+ clients across diverse sectors.
How do you ensure data security during integrations and migrations?
All our consultants operate under strict data handling protocols. We use sandboxes for all development, anonymize data in test environments, and follow Salesforce’s security best practices including field-level security, sharing rules, and encrypted field configurations.
Do you handle Salesforce integrations with other systems?
Yes. We have certified MuleSoft developers and integration architects with experience connecting Salesforce to SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot, Marketo, AWS, and dozens of other platforms using REST APIs, middleware, and native connectors.
Nonprofit & NPSP
What is NPSP and do you implement it?
NPSP (Nonprofit Success Pack) is Salesforce’s purpose-built CRM for nonprofits — managing donors, gifts, grants, volunteers, and program outcomes. We are one of the most experienced NPSP implementation partners in the country, with dozens of successful nonprofit deployments.
Do you work with small nonprofits or only large ones?
We work with nonprofits of all sizes, from 5-person organizations to large multi-site national nonprofits. We understand that nonprofit budgets are constrained, which is why we offer phased approaches that deliver value quickly without overbuilding.
